 The story of the origin of the Baturaden area, Purwokerto, Central Java.

 Baturraden in Javanese consists of two words, batur which means friend or servant and raden which means a noble from a wealthy family

' Baturraden is still considered to be a forest area, some of which are still natural, but many have been utilized by local residents to cultivate various types of plants, which you can also explore because of its cool beauty, surrounded by various trees and animals that live there.

According to stories from the local community around the Baturaden area, it is said that there was a nobleman who had an affair with the daughter of a servant or maid.

 Long story short, both of them, especially the children of the nobles, were not approved by their parents because they were from different castes.

 However, like the story of Romeo and Juliet, they decided to end their lives because of the bonds of love. In the end, they both jumped from the cliff and then the area was named by the local people as Baturraden.

* Baturaden is one of the sub-districts in Banyumas Regency, Central Java.
